Port of Civitavecchia

Ferry Routes and Cruises
(Civitavecchia, Lazio, Italy)

The port of Civitavecchia offers crossings to a number of destinations.

Six ferry companies operate routes to destinations in Sardinia and a small number of European destinations.

Civitavecchia to Arbatax

The Civitavecchia to Arbatax route is operated by Tirrenia Ferries and crossings are twice a week. These take place on Wednesdays and Fridays during the winter season and on Fridays and Sundays during the summer season. Journey times are 10 hours. Arbatax is a small ferry port and passengers should expect limited facilities. The town of Santa Maria Navarrese is only 10 minutes' drive from the ferry terminal.

Civitavecchia to Olbia

Tirrenia Ferries also operates the Civitavecchia to Olbia route, which is sailed daily throughout the year. Services are increased by up to two sailings a day during July and August. Moby Lines provides crossings twice a day along this route. Journey times are 4 hours, 45 minutes. The port of Olbia is the main connection between Sardinia and the Italian mainland. Basic facilities are on hand at the ferry terminal and include a waiting area, toilets and a cafeteria.

Civitavecchia to Calgliari

Tirrenia Ferries operates this route but crossings are fairly infrequent and alter according to the season. Journey times are 14 hours, 30 minutes.

Civitavecchia to Golfo Aranci

Sardinia Ferries provides service along this route with only a single weekly crossing. Journey time is 6 hours, 45 minutes. The Port of Golfo Aranci can be reached easily by taking the train from the Roma Ostiense Station. The ferry terminal is close to the town's amenities such as shops and restaurants. Ferrovie dello Stato also operates a train-ferry service with a boat crossing from Civitavecchia to Golfo Aranci.

Civitavecchia to Barcelona

Grimaldi Ferries operates a service from Civitavecchia to Barcelona; however, it is fairly infrequent with only three sailings per week. Journeys are overnight and take 20 hours. The port of Barcelona is a well organised facility with good passenger services and amenities.

The Civitavecchia to Tunis route is operated by two companies, both of which offer a single crossing per week. The journey time with Grimaldi Ferries is 16 hours, 30 minutes and with Grandi Navi Veloci the crossing time is 24 hours.
